Lisa Gardner Lisa has over 35 years of dance experience and 15 years experience teaching dance. She has taken classes at Crockett Dance Studio, Capitol City Ballet, The Ballet Studio and Broadway Academy. She has performed in various recitals and dance shows including the Nutcracker Ballet, Giselle, Firebird and The Best of Broadway. She has also performed at the Woodland Opera House in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls.
She enjoys teaching creative dance to children and has conducted classes at: The Ballet Studio Country Day School O.W. Pamela Lourentzos Pam has trained in Sacramento, New York, and Los Angeles and has danced with California Musical Theatre, Sacramento Opera, and in many concert and musical theatre productions. She has choreographed and directed many musicals throughout Northern California, including West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Carousel, Godspell, Guys and Dolls, Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Fiddler on the Roof, Western Star, and Aint Misbehavin. Pamela has won four Elly Awards for choreography and direction, and one Arty [Solano County] for choreography. She also teaches at Cisneros Studios of Dance, Deane Dance Center, and Arden Hills Country Club. She has also choreographed for Harrahs, Lake Tahoe, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, and off-Broadway in New York with the musical Julia.
Heidi McLean Ms. Mclean received her Bachelor of Arts in Drama from San Francisco State University. She initially studied ballet with Robert Ronan and Carol Fisher at the Academy of Ballet and performed with the El Dorado Junior Ballet and as a soloist with Ballet Ronan. In San Francisco she continued to study ballet while branching out into a variety of ethnic dance forms: Mexican, Spanish, Caribbean, Eastern European, Russian and Ukrainian to name a few. She has also studied flamenco, ballroom, and jazz. Heidi studied with Bobbi Bader from 1993 until Bobbi’s passing in 2006. She performed with the Trujillo Dance Company of San Francisco, Perfiloff Russian Dance Company, El Colectivo de Danza Hispanica, Neva Russian Dance Ensemble, Grupo El Salvador, and the Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival. While dancing with the Perfiloff Russian Dance Company, Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival and Neva Russian Dance Ensemble she performed all over the United States. She choreographed musical theater productions for Riordan High School and Lamplighters Music Theater in San Francisco. She was the director of El Colectivo de Danza Hispanica, Assistant Director of Neva Russian Dance Ensemble, and Technical Director for the Trujillo Dance Company of San Francisco. Her teaching career started at the Academy of Ballet as a substitute ballet teacher, and continued in San Francisco where she taught numerous dance classes at the Mission Cultural Center (Mexican Folkdance), at the Lorna Fordyce Dance Studio (Ballet), Riordan High School Summer School program ( Dance/Stage Makeup), and for Vista College (Mexican Folk Dance). In addition Ms. Mclean conducted Ethnic Dance Workshops and Lecture Demonstrations all over Northern California in schools and for organizations. She taught Mexican Folkdance in West Sacramento at Holy Cross church, and both ballroom and ethnic dance to an after school cheerleading class at Luther Burbank H.S. in Sacramento. Most recently she was a substitute teacher for Bobbi Bader. Over the years her teachers have included: Robert Ronan, Carol Fisher, Bonnie Thurber, Gail Barton, Anatol Joukowski, Vladimir Perfiloff, Lorenzo Trujillo, Ramon Dominguez, Irasema de la Parra, Leonid Shagalov, Damara Bennett, Henry Berg, Leslie Crockett, and Bobbi Bader.
Katie Rogers - ( Modern Dance)
A native of Sacramento, Ms. Rogers performed with the Sheldon High School dance company Universal Rhythm (1997-2000). She studied ballet at Bobbi Bader’s The Ballet Studio for six years and was given the opportunity to substitute teach classes as well as assist in Ms. Bader’s children’s classes. She expanded her dance education at CSU Sacramento under Dale Scholl and Dr. Linda Goodrich (2000-2004), and in 2004 Ms. Rogers earned her BA in Theatre Arts (Dance). From 2005 to 2007 Ms. Rogers studied ballet with Sonya Delwaide-Nichols at Mills College. In May of 2007, Ms. Rogers completed a two-year MFA program in Performance and Choreography at Mills College. While at Mills Ms. Rogers performed works by Martha Graham, Anna Sokolow, Molissa Fenely, and others in the Mills College Repertory Company. After graduation Ms. Rogers returned to The Ballet Studio. Cameron Austrheim-Smith Cameron started training with Bobbi Bader at age 6. He trained with Ms. Bader until he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Cameron attended City College in San Francisco. During that time he continued his dance training with Richard Gibson and Zory Karah at the Academy of Ballet. Cameron has performed with the Chamberdance performing group, Peninsula Ballet Theater and Chico Community Ballet. He also had walk on roles with Smuin Ballets/SF, San Francisco Ballet and the School of American Ballet. While in New York he had the privilege of taking instruction at The American Ballet Theater and New York City Ballet.
In 1998 Cameron worked in the Corps de Ballet with Nevada Ballet Theater. He returned to Sacramento to pursue an engineering degree at U.C. Davis which he received in 2005. He also began teaching men’s classes and technique at Pamelot School of Dance. While there he learned how to teach Pointe classes and began honing his choreographic skills. Cameron has returned to his home and roots teaching a weekly technique class and monthly Master Class at The Ballet Studio. He also teaches a pas de deux class at the Sacramento Academy of Dance.
